Railfest

Whistle Stop Weekend is always an exciting event for historic downtown Meridian and a big part is RAILFEST at Meridian Railroad Museum. Vendors and attendees traverse from across the state as well as adjoining states. TRAINS are the topic of the day, big trains and model trains, plus the museum’s miniature train — always a great ride for kids. Beginning at 9 am and convening at 3, attendees will enjoy the rolling stock as well as peeks inside artifact trains, especially Miss Alva, the movie star passenger train which was featured in the movie, “This Property is Condemned.” Grilled hamburgers and hotdogs with all the trimmings sold onsite. $5 adult admission and children free.
