How to Draw a Train
Calling all children, ages 5, 6, 7, 8 to come to the railroad museum and learn how to draw a train. The dates are June 3, 4, 5, 6, 10 am to noon. It is a very special train, Miss Alva, that was in the movies. It was a long time ago but even until this day, the movie is remembered, “This Property is Condemed” with Robert Redford and Natalie Wood. The train is a piece of Mississppi history and as well lovely to see. The children will enjoy immensely the opportunity to learn basic drawing techniques as big trains pass the museum every day. The students will be outside on the museum’s covered porch during the drawing lesson. Also, the museum’s resident artist, Jim Phillips, will teach the students. As well the students will take a ride on the museum’s miniature train each day, enjoy all of the model trains on display, plus the big trains coming into Union Station. The cost of $25 for each student will include the cost of art supplies, snacks and rides on the miniature train.
