Soule’ Live Steam Festival
Preserving America’s industrial heritage is important. The 20th Annual Soulé Live Steam Festival in Meridian, Mississippi gives visitors the opportunity to see how things were made and how hard people worked back in the early 20th century. These workers’ efforts in the past have helped to make our standard of living possible today. This event will be hosted at historic Soulé Steam Feed Works, America’s last intact steam engine factory. Always held on the first Saturday of November, this year the festival falls on Friday and Saturday, November 1-2, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Soulé Steam Museum features an impressive permanent collection of portable and stationary steam engines, which will operate using “live steam” (not compressed air). Visitors of all ages will experience the sights, sounds and feel of steam as the steam engines come to life during this event. The belt-driven machine shop will be in operation and other industrial tradesmen will be demonstrating their skills. The Soulé forge will be operated by blacksmiths creating items from raw steel. Food will be available onsite both days.
