The Blue Star Memorial on display in the East Mississippi Veterans Park is the first Blue Star Memorial in East Mississippi. The NAS Meridian Honor Guard will present the colors for the program and a wreath will be presented in honor of the 243 Heroes of Lauderdale County. Weather permitting, a Flyover will be performed by area veterans in a formation of World War II Navion’s. TAPS will be performed at the conclusion of the program by John Rhodan, retired Master Sergeant, USAF. 243 American Flags will cover park grounds in remembrance of the 243 Heroes of Lauderdale County who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country.
We invite the community to join us for a ceremony of remembrance, a time to reflect on the bravery, dedication, and selflessness of those who served their nation and gave their lives to protect the liberties we hold dear.
